La birreria privata Gaffel Becker & Co. OHG è un birrificio con sede a Colonia. L'azienda è membro dell'Associazione dei Birrifici di Colonia, ha firmato la Convenzione Kölsch ed è autorizzata a produrre Kölsch. Il marchio più conosciuto dell'azienda è Gaffel Kölsch.
Il nome Gaffel Kölsch deriva dai Gaffeln di Colonia, che nel 1396 erano il braccio politico delle corporazioni e dei mercanti di Colonia. "Gaffel" era l'espressione antica per uno spiedino a due punte che i mercanti coloni portarono con sé da Venezia nell'11° secolo. Con il documento dell'alleanza del 14 settembre 1396, la prima costituzione democratica della città di Colonia, le 22 Gaffeln assunsero il consiglio della città e fornirono persino il sindaco, i giurati e i giudici. I loro incontri serali regolari erano accompagnati da cibi e bevande, durante i quali si riunivano nel più antico edificio di Alter Markt, il Gaffel Haus. L'edificio è menzionato in documenti già nel 1213 ed esiste nella sua forma attuale dal 1580.
