Sarkow è un abitato nel quartiere di Leißnitz della città indipendente di Friedland nel distretto di Oder-Spree. Sarkow è stata una comunità autonoma fino all'incorporazione a Leißnitz nel 1939. Nel tardo Medioevo e nei primi tempi moderni, Sarkow era un feudo della nobile famiglia von Sternberg, insediata in Boemia.
Sarkow si trova su una penisola arrotondata che si protende nel lago Schwielochsee, circa 4 km a sud-ovest della città principale di Friedland. Il territorio confina a nord-ovest con Glowe, a nord con Leißnitz e a est con la città principale di Friedland. Il lago Schwielochsee, che si trova direttamente a sud, appartiene interamente al comune di Schwielochsee. A est, il Dammmühlenfließ forma il confine del territorio su una breve estensione.
