Il castello di Kransberg è un castello nella frazione di Kransberg della città di Usingen, nel distretto hessiano di Hochtaunuskreis, a circa 30 chilometri a nord di Francoforte sul Meno e a circa 50 chilometri a nord-est di Wiesbaden.
Nella zona esisteva già da lungo tempo un cosiddetto campo di giustizia, menzionato documentariamente già nel VII secolo. Si trovava a solo 500 metri in linea d'aria dall'attuale posizione del castello, su una collina sulla quale ancora oggi sorge una cappella. Nell'XI secolo fu realizzata una semplice fortificazione nell'area dell'odierna rocca, probabilmente nello stesso luogo strategicamente favorevole.
