I resti della fortezza Torstein, chiamata in una scrittura più antica Thorstein, è un castello scomparso su un promontorio montuoso presso Bad Tabarz, nel distretto di Gotha, nella foresta di Turingia.
Il sito del castello si erge su un piccolo promontorio roccioso di 566 m s.l.m. del Kleiner Wagenberg, circa 80 m sopra il Lauchagrund. Si trova a circa 3 km a sud-ovest di Tabarz. Lungo il castello passa una strada commerciale medievale che conduce alla Grenzwiese - Kleiner Inselsberg, l'attuale L 1024. Su questa strada si trovavano anche i castelli Stolzenburg e Leuchtenburg, distanti solo circa 1 km.
