Il comune è situato sul versante orientale della valle dell'Iller, circa 2 km a nord di Illertissen. A est si trova il vecchio paese, a ovest si trovano le aree abitative, alcune delle quali sono un po' distaccate. Il torrente Schwärzlegraben e il torrente Krautgartengraben hanno origine nel luogo o nei suoi pressi e si uniscono a nord nel Mauchegraben.
Betlinshausen era già nel tardo medioevo un luogo di pellegrinaggio popolare. La chiesa di San Giovanni Battista con le sue torrette a cupola risale all'epoca barocca.
