Il comune si trovava tra Stetten e Strümpfelbach. Oggi ci sono vigneti. In passato c'era la foresta di Lindhalden, da cui il comune prende il nome, che fu disboscata intorno al 1717.
Il comune è stato menzionato per la prima volta in un documento nel 1360. Secondo un registro del 1494, il comune era piuttosto ampio. Ai tempi della guerra dei trent'anni, il luogo era composto da circa 20 fattorie. Molti si trasferirono quindi nel villaggio di Stetten per cercare rifugio nel castello. Anche le epidemie di peste in Svevia nel 1596, 1607 e 1626 contribuirono a questo.
