Valbuena de Duero è un comune spagnolo di 504 abitanti situato nella comunità autonoma di Castiglia e León.
Il monastero di Santa Maria di Valbuena, principale interesse della località, è sicuramente uno tra gli esempi più significativi dei primi insediamenti cistercensi in Spagna. Il 15 febbraio del 1143, durante il regno di Alfonso VII , la contessa Estefanía, nipote del conte Pedro Ansúrez fondatore e signore di Valladolid, fonda il monastero di Santa Maria di Valbuena. Sono queste le prime tracce riguardanti l'esistenza del monastero.
