A un'altezza di circa 720 metri tra colline boschive si trova il villaggio di Ax Les Thermes. In questo villaggio si uniscono i fiumi Lauze e Oriege. Già ai tempi dei Romani Ax Les Thermes era conosciuta come località termale. Oggi si possono ancora trovare sessanta diverse sorgenti calde, alcune delle quali con temperature superiori ai 75 gradi. Nei dintorni c'è molto da fare ed è un'ottima area per i vacanzieri sportivi per fare splendide escursioni in montagna.
