Harfleur è un comune francese di 8.237 abitanti situato nel dipartimento della Senna Marittima nella regione della Normandia.Nel 1415 il re d'Inghilterra Enrico V sbarcò in Normandia, avanzando pretese dinastiche sul Regno di Francia. Inizialmente non incontrò resistenza , ma fu fermato a Harfleur dalla resistenza imprevista dei nobili francesi locali, che riunirono le loro truppe. La resistenza però durò solo cinque settimane. Il 22 settembre la città capitolò.
