Le Mans /lə'mɑ̃/ è un comune francese di 146.670 abitanti, capoluogo del dipartimento della Sarthe nella regione dei Paesi della Loira.Fu eretto a metà del XVI secolo da un canonico di nome Jean Perot. Era situato originariamente dietro alcune case che lo mettevano al riparo dalla vista delle strade di maggior traffico, segno questo di distinzione sociale. La facciata è organizzata secondo linee orizzontali e verticali. L'ordine ionico è presente con prevalenza al piano terreno in una cornice marcapiano.I piani superiori sono marcati invece dall'ordine corinzio con fini e delicate sculture.
