Il segnale di Randon è il punto culminante della Margeride, regione naturale del Massiccio centrale situata principalmente in Lozère, ma anche nel Cantal e nell'Alta Loira. Si trova nelle vicinanze del truc di Randon e del truc di Fortunio. Il segnale di Randon e il truc di Fortunio sono i punti culminanti del horst della Margeride e si caratterizzano per un modello tipico delle regioni granitiche, con in particolare numerosi caos costituiti da impilamenti di rocce di granito fratturate da diaclasi e poi liberate e arrotondate dall'erosione.
