La fontana Roesselmann si trova in una piazzetta all'angolo tra Rue Grand e Rue Turenne. La statua sulla fontana fu realizzata alla fine dell'ottocento dallo scultore Bartholdi. L'uomo sulla fontana è Jean Roesselmann. Quest'uomo fu giudice a Colmar nel XIII secolo finché non fu destituito dalla nobiltà locale e bandito dalla città. Tuttavia, è riuscito a tornare di nascosto in città nascondendosi in una botte di vino. Una volta tornato e fuori dal barile, aiutò a difendere la città dal vescovo Walter Geroldseck. Jean Roesselmann è stato ucciso durante queste battaglie. Per questo atto, Roesselmann è visto come il primo eroe di Colmar. La statua fu restaurata dai tedeschi durante la seconda guerra mondiale e collocata su un monumento bianco decorato con quattro pesci in bronzo.
