A 10 km a nord-est di Charleville-Mézières, NEUFMANIL ospita 1.228 "Néomesniliens", soprannominati "Crayats" (il crayat è una scoria di fonderia). Neufmanil fu annessa alla Francia nel 1769. Evacuato nel 1940, il villaggio fu gravemente danneggiato (lo "château" fu distrutto nel 1941). Un villaggio "circondato" dalla foresta... il bosco si estende per circa 420 ettari ed è costituito da specie nobili (quercia, faggio, carpino e anche betulla). Il comune si fa un punto d'onore di offrire ai suoi abitanti e ai visitatori un ambiente pulito e fiorito, sia in estate che in inverno. Con una ventina di associazioni, è un villaggio ricco di attività.
