Nel 1976, furono scattate foto della Battersea Power Station per la copertina dell' album dei Pink Floyd album Animals. Le immagini furono scattate con un pallone di dodici metri a forma di maiale che fluttuava tra i camini dell'impianto. Il maiale si liberò, sorvolò il percorso d'approccio dell'Aeroporto di Londra Heathrow e raggiunse un'altitudine di 18.000 piedi (5,5 km) prima di tornare sulla terra. Di conseguenza, sia i Pink Floyd che il centrale ricevettero molta pubblicità.
