Zambrone sorge su un altopiano a 222 m di altitudine dal mare che dista circa 2 km; il comune con le sue frazioni di San Giovanni, Daffinà e Daffinacello si estende su una superficie di 14,36 km². Il territorio ordinato a terrazzamenti si presenta con valli e profonde incisioni fluviali. Dal punto di vista paesaggistico Zambrone è caratterizzato dalla varietà degli ambienti marini e dal litorale che passa repentinamente dalle lunghe e basse spiagge alle scogliere granitiche come punta Capo Cozzo. Fa parte della costa degli Dei, un tratto di litorale ricadente nella provincia di Vibo Valentia.
