Faenza è un comune italiano di 58 951 abitanti della provincia di Ravenna in Emilia-Romagna. La città è storicamente nota per la produzione di ceramica artistica, in particolare la maiolica, così rinomata da essere de facto riconosciuta a livello internazionale con il termine "Faience".
Di origine romana, sotto la signoria dei Manfredi iniziò ad attraversare un'epoca di grande sviluppo architettonico e artistico dal Rinascimento al Barocco e, grazie all'intensa attività artistica e culturale, tra il XVIII e il XIX secolo divenne un centro di riferimento del Neoclassicismo in Italia e in Europa.
