La Val Camonica è una vallata della Lombardia orientale, una delle più estese delle Alpi Centrali, lunga quasi 100 km, con una superficie di 1 518,19 km² e una popolazione di 97 936 abitanti; dal lato meridionale inizia in corrispondenza della Corna Trentapassi, sul lago d'Iseo, mentre il limite settentrionale è scandito in tre diverse direzioni da altrettanti valichi montani: Passo del Tonale, a 1 883 m s.l.m., Passo dell'Aprica e Passo del Gavia, con quest'ultimo a rappresentare il punto più a nord della valle.
