Nel Medioevo c'era un signore a Born, un Heinrich von Born fu nominato nel 1286. La famiglia fece erigere il precedente edificio dell'attuale castello. Fu distrutto nel 1705 durante gli attacchi dell'esercito del Duca di Marlborough.
Intorno al 1740, l'attuale castello fu costruito dalla famiglia Faust di Aschaffenburg-Hattstein. Nel 1775, la famiglia De Villers lo ereditò. Nel 1978, il comune acquistò il castello e nel 1985 lo rivendette.
