La strada collega la Normandia alla battaglia delle Ardenne a Bastogne. L'itinerario completo è su Routeyou costituito come itinerario motore chiamato Via della Libertà e come pista ciclabile con estensione nei Paesi Bassi (Wageningen) in dieci parti chiamate VDLAV (via della Libertà in bicicletta).
