Rotterdam-Sud comprende la parte di Rotterdam situata a sud del Nieuwe Maas. Rotterdam-Sud conta, con i distretti della commissione pubblica Charlois, Feijenoord e IJsselmonde, circa 240.000 abitanti. Tradizionalmente si parla di "a Sud". In origine, i quartieri erano collegati tra loro solo da ponti tramite il Noordereiland. Per il resto, si era costretti a utilizzare i traghetti. In seguito, nel 1942, venne costruito il Maastunnel e a metà degli anni '60 il primo ponte Van Brienenoord. Altri collegamenti furono il Willemsbrug e l'Erasmusbrug. Dopo il completamento dell'Erasmusbrug nel 1996, gli sviluppi a Rotterdam-Sud sono accelerati. Anche grazie all'arrivo di enti come il Comune di Rotterdam, il Porto, l'Agenzia delle Entrate, il Tribunale, l'Università di InHolland, Deloitte e AKD, la Kop van Zuid è diventato un distretto commerciale.
