Nel settembre 1944, durante l'operazione militare Market Garden degli alleati, catturato dal nemico sconfitto. Sistemato dalla popolazione durante le celebrazioni per la liberazione in questa piazza. Trasferito in proprietà dal Comune ai residenti di Zandoerle.
