Il quartiere fu già menzionato nel 1407. Ci sono alcune fattorie monumentali, come la fattoria a facciata corta "De Martiene Plats" della cui storia risale al 1640.
A pochi centinaia di metri a sud-ovest di Weverslo si trova la Weverslose Berg. Questo è un ex duna mobile che è stata boschiva e con i suoi 38,6 metri è il punto più alto della Limburgo settentrionale. Sulla cima di questa duna c'è un punto panoramico. La foresta è composta principalmente da querce, che venivano utilizzate per il carbone e allo stesso tempo trattenevano la sabbia mobile. Dopo la Seconda Guerra Mondiale non furono più raccolti legna da ardere e le querce crescevano fino a formare una foresta.
