Il ghetto di Łódź, con oltre 200.000 abitanti, è stato per grandezza il secondo tra i ghetti nazisti istituiti dal Terzo Reich in Polonia, dopo quello di Varsavia. Situato nella città di Łódź ed inizialmente inteso come un campo solo temporaneo di raccolta per ebrei, il ghetto venne trasformato in un importante centro industriale a basso costo di manodopera per la Germania nazista ed in special modo per l'esercito tedesco. La popolazione del ghetto fu progressivamente ridotta dalle disumane condizioni di vita e di lavoro e dall'invio di decine e decine di migliaia di bambini e anziani nei campi di sterminio. A causa dell'elevata produttività il ghetto riuscì tuttavia a sopravvivere fino all'agosto 1944 quando la popolazione rimasta venne deportata e uccisa ad Auschwitz. Fu l'ultimo ghetto polacco ad essere liquidato. Solo poche migliaia furono i sopravvissuti.
