La Libreria “Bertrand” è la libreria in attività più antica del mondo, situata in Rua Garrett al numero 73 nel quartiere Chiado a Lisbona, come del resto riporta anche il Guinness dei primati.
La fondazione risale al 1732 quando Pedro Faure, che gestiva una tipografia molto avviata dal 1727, decise di aprire una libreria dove far incontrare artisti ed intellettuali portoghesi, i quali non si fecero attendere. Oliveira Martins, Antero de Quental, Ramalho Ortigão, Alexandre Herculano, José Maria Eça de Queirós furono alcuni dei nomi che in varie epoche frequentarono assiduamente la libreria.
