Il rettorato dell'Università del Minho si trova nella piazza Largo Do Paço.
L'ex Palazzo Arcivescovile ospita il servizio. Fu costruito nel XIV secolo dall'arcivescovo D. Fernando Guerra e ristrutturato nel XVI e XVIII secolo. Il soffitto a cassettoni della sala di lettura merita una menzione speciale, così come la fontana Castelos nel cortile.
In questo spazio opera la Biblioteca pubblica. La planimetria è a forma di croce e ha un tetto a sella.
