Ai piedi della statua si trova il messaggio latino: <<IN PRINCIPE ERAT VERBUM EN VERBUM ERAT APUD DEUM, ET GOD ERAT VERBUM», tradotto: << In principio era il Verbo, e il Verbo era presso Dio, e il Verbo era Dio .>>.
Sotto l'iscrizione si trova la testa di un'aquila che spruzza acqua attraverso il becco.
