Il Dakota è un celebre edificio residenziale di New York City, situato nell'esclusivo contesto dell'Upper West Side di Manhattan.
È uno dei più antichi ed esclusivi edifici residenziali di Manhattan e il suo nome è legato a molte celebrità dello spettacolo che ivi hanno abitato, tra cui Rudolf Nureyev, Leonard Bernstein e John Lennon, quest'ultimo assassinato nel 1980 proprio davanti all'entrata dell'edificio.
