Elke zondag na Pinksteren, is er in Ronse de Fiertel waarbij Sint-Hermes vereerd wordt. De naam "Fiertel" is afkomstig van Feretrum wat schrijn betekent. Op deze ronde van 33 km worden de relikwieën van St. Hermes rondgedragen. Deze Heilige wordt aanbeden tegen de hoofdpijn, neurastenie, razernij en vallende ziekte.
Da Abdij van Ronse kreeg reeds in 860 de relikten van deze Romeinse Heilige. Bij een inval van de Noormannen in 880 kon men deze relikwieëen redden door deze uit de abdij te laten verdwijnen.
