En dat kan je hier ervaren bij het station. Hij vertelt ook dat 'Meer nog dan Treignes is dit het olifantenkerkhof van de Begische spoorwegen'. Maar tussen al die vervallen glorie heeft hij ook oog voor de natuur die hier op deze plekken vrij woekert: 'Geen hovenier heeft zich ooit met deze spoorwegtuinen bemoeid. Ze zijn meer natuur dan de getemde Ardense bossen waar de natuurbeschermers voor God spelen of de weidelandschappen geboetseerd door eeuwenlang boerenlabeur.'
