Wist je dat in 1950 in Dessel het laatste heksenproces in België plaats. vond? Zij het dat niemand aangeklaagd werd voor hekserij. Dorpelingen beschuldigden Maria Minnen zwarte magie te bedrijven. De vrouw stapte zelf naar de rechtbank met een aanklacht wegens laster en eerroof jegens haar buurvrouw, de kerkmeester en haar tante. De drie werden veroordeeld door de rechtbank van Arendonk op 23 juni 1950 tot geldboetes en een schadevergoeding.
