Gouvy is een dorp en gemeente in de Belgische provincie Luxemburg. De gemeente telt iets meer dan 5.000 inwoners.
Op het eind van het ancien régime werd Gouvy een gemeente. In 1823 werden bij gemeentelijke herindelingen in Luxemburg veel kleine gemeenten samengevoegd en Gouvy werd opgeheven en bij de gemeente Limerlé gevoegd. In 1823 waren de kernen Limerlé en Gouvy immers ongeveer even groot. Op 20 februari 1867 werd in de gemeente Limerlé, net ten oosten van het dorp Gouvy, het treinstation van Gouvy geopend op de nieuwe lijn lijn 42 tussen Trois-Ponts en Troisvierges. Op 26 oktober 1885 werd de lijn via Bastenaken naar Libramont geopend. Tijdens de Eerste Wereldoorlog werd deze lijn verlengd naar Sankt-Vith, zodat de Duitse bezetter oorlogsmaterieel kon aanvoeren naar het front in het zuidwesten.
