Niet verschieten als je hier een vlag met daarop een Vlaamse Leeuw en een rode streep door ziet. Dit heeft niets met anti-Vlaams sentiment te maken. In tegendeel. Het verwijst naar een link met Vlaanderen. Dit was gewoon het wapenschild van het graafschap Namen. Het was uitgerekend de graaf van Vlaanderen zelf, Gwijde van Dampierre, die in de dertiende eeuw de schuine rode balk over de leeuw plakte. Stond symbool voor zijn zoon, die later graaf Jan van Namen zou worden.
