Het gehucht Madonna maakt deel uit van het dorp Poekapelle. Het gehucht werd op de kaart gezet door de film "Het varken van Madonna" van Frank Van Passel. Het verhaal is ontleend aan de legendes rond dit gehucht en rond het Mariabeeld hier. Maar de opnames voor de film werden voornamelijk in het naburige dorp Houtem gemaakt en enkele andeere dorpen verspreid over Vlaanderen.
