Haren heeft de weinig benijdenswaardige titel van lelijkste gemeente van België. Maar in elke lelijkheid is er ook schoonheid te ontdekken. Wist je dat hier de nationale luchthaven even lag, voor ze naar Zaventem verschoof. Haren kreeg ook een nieuwe megagevangenis, wat tot veel lokaal protest leidde. Die protestgroep was zelfs zo boos dat ze voor de onafhankelijkheid van Haren van Brussel pleitte. Maar de gevangenis kwam er.
