De naam Vagevuurbos verwijst naar de Vagevuurkapel die langs de Blauwhuisstraat gebouwd werd. De huidige kapel dateert van 1962 en vervangt de vroegere beelden en prenten die op deze locatie geplaatst werden. De oudste vermelding gaat terug tot 1756.
