Description

Voormalige cisterciënzerinnenabdij "Maegdendael". Gesticht in 1219; tijdens haar bloeiperiode omvatte ze een kerk, een gasten- en vreemdelingenkwartier, een ruim abdissenkwartier, kloostergebouwen en aanhorigheden, waaronder een brouwerij bij de Gete. In 1755 werd reeds een groot deel der gebouwen verwoest doch ten dele heropgebouwd.
