In Villers-La-Ville staat de "Abbaye Notre-Dame De Villers". Dit zijn de ruïnes van wat eens een cisterciënzerabdij is geweest. Diep in de vallei van de Thyle, die hier een haast Ardens landschap heeft uitgesleten, liggen er de overblijfselen om te bewonderen.
De abdij werd in 1146 gesticht door de later heilig verklaarde Sint-Bernardus en is in de loop van de jaren uitgegroeid tot een van de uniekste abdijen van geheel West-Europa. De ruïne is ruim 15 ha groot en de 13de eeuwse brouwerij behoort tot de indrukwekkendste kloostergebouwen van België.
