De graffiti- en street art-wereld is overwegend mannelijk, maar steeds meer meisjes en vrouwen laten van zich horen. Het festival La Belle Hi pHop focust jaarlijks op hun bijdrage in het kader van de Internationale Vrouwendag (8 maart). Deze tekening (Helihavenlaan 33) verscheen in 2020, in samenwerking met het Parcours Street Art van de Stad Brussel.
De Japanse kunstenares Shiro beeldt hier de vier creatieve pijlers van de hiphop af: rap, breakdance, DJ-ing en graffiti. Geïnspireerd door de slogan van La Belle Hip Hop ‘Make our difference a strength’ tekende ze vier vrouwen met verschillende roots. Shiro begon in 1998 te schilderen met verfspuiten en ‘home made’-gereedschap. Haar heel herkenbare personages doen denken aan Japanse manga-strips. Ze reist vaak tussen New York en Japan om haar kunst te doen evolueren.
