Met een naam als dit, kan het niet anders dan dat je langs enkele gigantische sequoia’s – ook wel mammoetbomen – passeert. Deze naaldbomen zijn zonder twijfel de grootste bomen van het Hallerbos. Maar ze zijn hier ook een zeldzaamheid, want er groeien toch vooral eiken en beuken en dit grootste bosgebied tussen Zenne en Zoniën. Het Hallerbos is vooral gekend van het schitterend blauwe bloementapijt in het voorjaar als de boshyacinten in bloei staan.

Voor je op pad gaat: Dit is een wandeling op een virtueel wandelnetwerk, de knooppunten zijn niet bewegwijzerd op het terrein. Volg de houten palen met blauwe markering. Deze wandeling wordt aangeboden door het Agentschap voor Natuur en Bos en Toerisme Vlaams-Brabant.
