De natuurwandeling loopt langs het natuurinrichtingsproject Wellemeersen. Dit project werd op 5 december 2020 goedgekeurd. Na een periode van plannen starten de werken in 2022. Tot dan is er ter plaatse weinig actie te zien.

Met watergerichte maatregelen moedigen we de natuur aan om zich te herstellen en te ontwikkelen. Er gaat ook aandacht naar het landschap en het recreatief aanbod.
