In december 2003 maakte de gemeente Scuol, van het in het oosten van Zwitserland gelegen kanton Graubünden, bekend een tot dan toe naamloze bergtop te vernoemen naar de Nederlandse kroonprinses Catharina-Amalia Beatrix Carmen Victoria. Ter gelegenheid van de doop van kroonprinses Amalia is de top van de berg op 4 juni 2004 'ingewijd' door de burgemeester van Scuol en de Nederlandse ambassadeur in Zwitserland. Piz Amalia (2918 meter) ligt tussen de Piz d'Astras (2980 meter) en de Piz Mezdi (2882 meter) in.
