Al eerder een autonome gemeente die zich uitstrekte over 10,68 km², werd op 4 april 2004 samengevoegd met de andere opgeheven gemeenten van Broglio, Brontallo, Fusio, Peccia en Prato-Sornico om de gemeente Lavizzara te vormen.
Elke familie die oorspronkelijk uit de plaats afkomstig is, maakt deel uit van de zogenaamde patriciërs gemeente en heeft de verantwoordelijkheid voor het onderhoud van elk goed binnen de grenzen van de wijk.
