De Nürburgring in Adenau is een circuit dat vooral bekend is dankzij de Formule 1, die er jaarlijks neerstrijkt voor de Grand Prix van Europa. Vroeger voerde het parcours de rijders over 22 km, langs 172 bochten door de dennenbossen (de Nürburgring Nordschleife). Maar sinds de bekende Oostenrijkse rijder Niki Lauda er een zware (bijna dodelijke) crash maakte, wordt 'De Groene Hel', zoals dit circuit genoemd werd, niet meer gebruikt voor F1-races.
