De plaats Bienenbüttel is de kernplaats van de eenheidsgemeente Bienenbüttel, midden in de Lüneburger Heide in het noorden van de Landkreis Uelzen, Niedersachsen, aan de grens met de Landkreis Lüneburg tussen Hamburg en Hannover.
Bienenbüttel is de afgelopen jaren sterk gegroeid door de nabijheid en goede verkeersverbinding naar de metropolen Hamburg en Hannover, met talrijke nieuwbouwprojecten. Hierdoor is Bienenbüttel samengegroeid met de deelgemeenten Hohenbostel in het noorden, Wichmannsburg in het oosten, Neu-Steddorf en Steddorf in het westen. Door de aanleg van bedrijventerreinen zijn er ook lokaal meer werkplekken gecreëerd, maar de meeste Bienenbüttelers werken buiten de plaats.
