Herzogenrath en Ripuarisch: Herzeroa , is een plaats in de Duitse deelstaat Noordrijn-Westfalen, gelegen in de Stadsregio Aken. De stad telt 46.225 inwoners op een oppervlakte van 33,40 km². Naburige steden zijn Übach-Palenberg, Baesweiler, Alsdorf, Würselen, Aken en Kerkrade. Samen met het aangrenzende Kerkrade vormt Herzogenrath de Europastad Eurode. In Herzogenrath wordt, evenals in Kerkrade, vanouds Ripuarisch gesproken, een Duitse taalvariant die door de, in het westen aangrenzende, Limburgse dialecten beïnvloed is.
