De Albrechtsburg in Meissen is een door hertog Albrecht van Saksen tussen 1471 en circa 1500 gebouwd kasteel. Vanwege de opvallende ligging boven de stad wordt de burcht ook wel 'Acropolis van Meissen' genoemd wordt. Het was het eerste kasteel in Duitsland dat niet op de eerste plaats als vesting, maar als residentie gebouwd werd.
De bouwmeester van het slot is Arnold van Westfalen . De stijl is hoofdzakelijk gotisch, maar er zijn ook duidelijke renaissance-elementen te herkennen. De Albrechtsburg maakt van afstand een bijzonder indrukwekkende, 'torenachtige' indruk, ook als men de beide neogotische torens van de erachter gelegen kathedraal wegdenkt. Dat effect wordt niet alleen veroorzaakt door de verschillende traptorens maar ook door de in het dak aangebrachte lucarnen, dakgevels met een hoog raam erin.
