Noordelijk van de Propsteikirche staat direct aan het Emswehr een markant gebouw, de zogenaamde "Große Mühle" - het huidige Christoph-Bernsmeyer-Haus. Een wapenschild op de gevel herinnert aan een ingrijpende renovatie in 1754, waaraan de Westfaalse barokarchitect Johann Conrad Schlaun heeft meegewerkt.
In 1976/1977 werd de voormalige graanmolen overgedragen aan de orde van de Mauritzer Franciscanessen. De stichter van deze orde was pater Christoph Bernsmeyer (1777-1858), die meer dan 50 jaar als hulppredikant in Telgte heeft gewoond. Lange tijd diende het Christoph-Bernsmeyer-Haus als vakantiehuis voor de zusters van de orde. Tegenwoordig wonen daar zusters van de orde Maria Stella Matutina.
Aan de rechteroever bij het Emswehr bevond zich vroeger een olie- en walkmolen, die rond 1900 is afgebroken.
