Roneklint Skanse werd gebouwd rond 1808 in verband met de Engelandse oorlogen (1801-14), de forten van de Engelandsoorlog waren voornamelijk relatief eenvoudige, bemande aardwerken, vanwaar kanonnen een aanvallende vloot konden beschieten en vanwaar de omliggende kustlijn werd bewaakt en gepatrouilleerd.
