Foix is een gemeente in het Franse departement Ariège (regio Midi-Pyrénées) en telt ca. 9000 inwoners. De plaats maakt deel uit van het arrondissement Foix. In de gemeente ligt spoorwegstation Foix.
Tot aan de Franse Revolutie was Foix het centrum van het graafschap Foix, later een zelfstandige Franse provincie, het Pays de Foix, dat ongeveer overeenkwam met het departement van de Ariège. Vanaf de 13e eeuw heersten de heren van Foix ook over Béarn en vestigden zich daar.
