Aangevoerde vis werd hier verkocht aan de visleurders en visleursters. Deze zaten op de banken in het visperk en kochten de vis om er de stad en het platteland mee af te leuren. De visafslager zorgde in het visafslagerhuisje voor de afslag van de vis.
